8 Types of Prayer
Use these 8 types of prayer to start your prayer life and build a relationship between you and your Father, God.
Psalm 32:5; 51; Luke 2:29-32 – Confession (Confession includes confessing your sins and repenting of them to God or confessing your faith to God. Always remember that confessing sins to God is the first step to forgiveness. God wants to hear about everything, not to judge you, but to forgive you.)
Psalm 132:1-5; 1 Samuel 1:11 – Oath (Take an oath or a vow to God, dedicating yourself to working for Him and with Him.)
Psalm 118; Luke 1:46-55 – Praise (Thank God by praising Him in prayer. Bring to light and recognize all the good He has done and will continue to do in your life.)
Psalm 25; 23; Acts 1:24-25 – Petition (Prayers of petition are asking God for guidance and help on the path you are walking. He will guide you and help you walk a life with Him.)
Psalm 44:9>; 1 Kings 19:4; Mark 15:34 – Lament (Let God hear your worries, grief, and pain. It’s okay to share your struggles and be personal with Him. Even Jesus cried out to God. In 1 Kings read how God answered the lament by sending an angel.)
Psalm 106:47-48; 107:1; 1 Chronicles 16:34-36 – Thanks (Thank God for all that He has done. We will never run out of things to be thankful for. He has given us everything and continues to provide daily. Let Him know you are appreciative for that.)
Psalm 6:2; Jeremiah 17:14 – Healing (God can heal you physically and spiritually from anything in your life.)
Psalm 107:6 – Deliverance (Notice verse 13, 19, and 28. God hears your request for deliverance and will answer it. He is there to bring you out of wherever you are. He will not leave you there alone.
