WHO IS THE LORD OF YOUR LIFE?
Daniel 3:28 NIV "Then Nebuchadnezzar said, "Praise be to the GOD of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent HIS angel and rescued HIS servants! They trusted in HIM and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God."
Dr. Tim Keller, the author of a book called Counterfeit gods, posed the following questions to audiences across America, "What "thing" if you lost it, could almost mean that you would lose the will to live? What "thing", if you lost it, could mean that almost all significance and value would be drained from your life? Whatever that "thing" is, the bible calls it an idol. An idol is anything you love more than God or that you rest your heart in more than God" (Keller, 2011).
This week we are studying the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who, by faith, were willing to go into the fiery furnace regardless of the consequences. GOD saved them. Not a single hair on their head was singed nor were their clothes affected, and the smell of fire was not on them. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego decided to follow GOD wherever HE took them. HE was their one true KING.
Who is the Lord over your life? Is it King Jesus?
Psalm 139:23-24 NIV, "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting."
