Three Simple Words

16 Rejoice always,
17 pray without ceasing,
18 give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Rejoice, pray, thank. We are instructed to do three things for the will of God to be in us. How simple are these three things?

We rejoice always. In the depths of fear, shame, and confusion, we rejoice. On the mountains, rooftops, and victories, we rejoice. Rejoicing does not end when we reach the top and does not begin when we fall to the bottom. It is a constant in the lives of Jesus-focused people.

We pray without ceasing. The anagram PRAY is a great reminder of how Jesus told His disciples to pray in Matthew 6:10-13.
                    P = Praise
                    R = Repent
                    A = Ask
                    Y = Yield
If we remember these examples our prayers will never cease.

Finally, we thank God in all circumstances. Gratitude isn't limited to favorable situations. Just as we rejoice in every aspect of our lives we need to thank God in every position of life. We are blessed beyond measure, with more blessings raining down daily. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Continue to rejoice, pray, and give thanks. God loves you, Jesus loves you, and they both desire you home in Heaven.
