Why is Sin Glorified?
When is it going to stop? Why do men hate God? Why are we returning to evil?
I recently was reading about a man I had never heard of. Apparently he is suppose to be somebody special because he was featured in a magazine article and was granted the ten questions to be asked. I am not using his name because he doesn't deserve the ink. Neither am I using the magazine name because they don't deserve the ink either.
What makes my stomach turn was he was asked, "Do you still tear out Leviticus 18 from hotel Bible's? He proudly said, "yes." Others send him Leviticus 18 that they have torn from Bibles.
The verse he does not like is Lev 18:22, " You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." This is God's law against homosexuality. This is not the only verse that condemns that sin. There are others, in both the O.T. and the N.T.
Three thoughts for us:
- Tearing any page out of the Bible does not change what God says. Does removing speed limit signs change the law? No! God's law stands.
- Other people who happen to read the hotel Bible will notice a page is missing.
- We need to make a commitment to read God's word every day. Make a resolution in 2013 to read your Bible every day! Notice the plan on page one.
Instead of trying to become holy people, some are content to destroy property that does not belong to them. Their love for sin wants them to justify it.
My fear is that if we don't arm ourselves with God's word, the devil will continue to take more souls and our freedom to worship our Savior will be gone.
